About Us

Who are we?

The National Cosmetic Referral Service that began in 1988 has founded the Board Certified Plastic Surgeons Referral Association. Cosmetic Surgery Referral Service has evolved for the exclusive purpose of directing prospective patients to Board Certified Cosmetic/Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons in their area.

What is CSRS?

The Cosmetic Surgery Referral Service is the Association for Board Certified Plastic Surgeons that provide healthcare services for accident and cosmetic enhancement patients. Members can provide secure services/practices to ensure patient confidentiality and access secure libraries on-line in real-time by using the Associations technology and inexpensive services. The Association represents individual members and the membership collectively on issues relating to patient referrals. Doctor members are thoroughly screened for proper Board Certification, Credentials and Board Records and closely monitored for patient satisfaction.

How do I register a complaint about a Referral Provider and how does CSRS handle the complaint?

CSRS has no jurisdiction over non-member Referral Providers and cannot pursue complaints received involving businesses that are not members of the Association. If a complaint is received that involves a CSRS member, the complaint is reviewed by the CSRS Ethics Committee, which investigates every complaint. Only signed complaints may be pursued. The party against whom the complaint is lodged must be made aware of the name of the complaining party and must be given a copy of the complaint. The accused business must be given the opportunity to respond to the charges. The entire process must be confidential. If it is determined that an ethics violation has taken place the Association may assess penalties ranging from a reprimand to expulsion. Some factors that should be kept in mind are: No ethics investigation will take place while the threat of legal action against the offending business is pending. The Association may not impose any financial penalties.
